Vista Announces New “Vista Expand” Signage Solution

Vista System announced its new line of Vista Expand signage solutions.  Vista’s MCFT line of sign frames is already made of eco friendly materials and is LEED certified.  This new line complements the MCFT line and is specifically designed for projects requiring extra large signage solutions.Vista System Expand Sign Frames

Applicable to both interior and exterior use, these environmental signs range in size from approximately 28″-55″ wide and 13′ in height.  Like its MCFT counterpart, these sign frames are curved, modular and contemporary to fit almost any environment or decor.

The sign frames that are being introduced in the new expand format include door and wall signs, pylons and post and panel sign frames.  The door and wall and post and panel sign frames come in both landscape and portrait orientations.

Although this signage is make from eco friendly materials and will withstand outdoor use, it’s equally important to make sure you choose the proper inserts.  Vinyl, acrylic, photopolymer, engraved along with various screen-printed substrates will work outdoors.  These same eco friendly materials will work indoors as well along with paper, cardstock and others. It’s quite simple to change the inserts as well as install the signage.

There are a myriad of potential applications for this type of signage including, commercial buildings, tourist attractions, road signs, mall signs, transportation and real estate to name a few.

With this new line of environmental signs, its now possible to be environmentally conscious and have an aesthetically pleasing signage solution that you and your constituents would be proud of.

Green Signs by Vista System (Part 2 of 2)

Vista Green ProductsVista System used the audit process to create its green signs by employing green methodologies appropriate for its product use such as:

Longevity – These are sustainable signs and the idea is to be able to change them over a ten year life span.  Made with green products that are modular in design makes this viable.

Managing End of Life – Vista System uses green products designed specifically for recycling.  More importantly, they are mechanically fastened allowing for ease of separation.

Waste Management – Not only are the green signs recyclable but the packaging can either be reused or recycled.

Environmental Quality – There is little to no out gassing because the parts are sealed under polymer.

Energy Efficient – The Vista System line of sustainable signs are made from green products; primarily aluminum and polymer.  The former is made primarily of recycled aluminum and the latter is a low energy consumption material.

Education – Vista System provides instruction and guidance on the use of its green signs.  There are reference materials available on request for those needing more information.

Green signs are the result of putting green products together.  By partnering with green suppliers Vista is fulfilling that goal. The plastics supplier has received numerous awards for being environmentally friendly and the aluminum supplier is managed to the strictest of standards for clean air in Europe.

Vista is the leader in MCFT modular curved frame technology and exhibits an entire line of sustainable signs.  Whether new construction, addition or remodel, Vista’s wide selection of frames and sizes will accommodate or exceed the most demanding of sign standards.

Green Signs by Vista System (Part 1 of 2)

Vista Green SignsVista System produces green signs and can help project teams earn LEED Certification for New Construction projects filed under the LEED NC/MR system version 3.0. The certification holds true for its MCFT wayfinding line of environmental signage (i.e. its curved frame line).  To be clear, Vista System through its acquisition of GreenSquare and its new flat wayfinding product line will pursue certification but at this time is not currently in place.

So what makes the Vista System wayfinding products green?  The green signs were a result of an 18 month project whereby the entire system was redesigned to improve sustainability.  The result was an environmental signage line that was fully recyclable, long lasting and could be broken down to individual elements which could be taken apart and reused or recycled.

Green Signs Product Sustainability – The frames are aluminum extrusions with long lasting plastic end caps and clear covers will ensure longevity.

Green Signs Packaging – Vista uses recyclable cardboard boxes and either reused or recycled packaging materials.

Sustainability and Vandal-Resistant – By redesigning the wayfinding product line to become more vandal-resistant, Vista System has enabled the product line to last longer.

The Society for Environmental Graphic Design Green Committee has reviewed and accepted the product as one that employs green practices in its creation.  The SEGD philosophy is not to call any specific material green but audits processes to validate that those materials and processes are used to create a final green product.

This environmental signage post will be continued in part two due to the amount of material available.

Vista Way Finding Sign Frames Installed at EMKA

Vista way finding sign frames were recently installed in a large shopping center in Poland.  The architectural signs, as shown in the photo, include free-standing pylon signs, directory signs and suspended signs. The suspended signs, at least for this implementation, are illuminated while the pylon signs and directory signs are not.  Vista does provide both illuminated and non-illuminated versions of the suspended signs and pylon signs however the directory signs are only come in the non-illuminated style.

Vista Way Finding SignsWhat I like about the Vista way finding system is the nice clean look and feel that it brings.  Although there are only three types of sign frames shown here it would also apply to any of the other architectural signs that Vista provides such as their flag signs and wall signs.  See sign frames catalog for entire product line.

They created the inserts using the color scheme already in place within the shopping center.  Whether a new installation or a retrofit, these way finding signs easily become part of the existing decor and complement it.  The fact that they use bright, contrasting colors only enhances the effect.

The inserts are easily removed which makes maintenance a breeze.  The suspended signs most likely will experience less volatility with their content versus the others but in any case they can be removed with a suction cup just the same.

The Vista way finding system does provide the necessary flexibility when signing a shopping center, office building or campus location.  As evidenced by these photos the look great and help customers navigate through the center effectively.

Top FAQs on Vista GreenSquare Flat Signs

Vista GreenSquare Flat SystemAs mentioned in the previous article, Vista System just introduced it’s new line of GreenSquare flat signs at the NBM show in Long Beach, CA.  To help educate and inform everyone on the new product line, here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Vista System 2012 NBM Show in Long Beach

Vista Systems NBM 2012Vista System unveiled their new GreenSquare flat sign frames at this year’s NBM show in Long Beach, CA to complement their curved wayfinding sign system (MCFT) product line.  Vista System is a leading international sign manufacturer of modern, contemporary sign frames.

Overall, show traffic was steady but picked up significantly throughout the afternoon.  Sign professionals from all over the country converged in Long Beach and showed significant interest in both modular sign systems.  For those familiar with the curved wayfinding system, the new flat sign frames provide an equally compelling and aesthetically pleasing alternative to add to their existing product line.

The Vista System representatives were very excited about the prospects of the new system consisting of wall signs, directory signs, flag signs, corner and table sign frames.  With this comprehensive suite of wayfinding products, Vista System can now compete in the “flat” space with the same level of quality and service as the curved line.

As with the curved modular sign system, the inserts are easy to maintain.  The clear covers are removed with the suction cup and support paper inserts for just in time sign maintenance – at no cost!  They also support acrylic engraved materials, including ADA, and numerous other substrates.  If the insert is not flexible, you simply disconnect one of the special cover extrusions mechanically fastened to the frame.  In either case, it’s simple and fast.

We’ll cover the flat system in more detail in our upcoming post but for now it’s back to the show!

Vista System Installs Pylon Signs in Netherlands

Vista System Pylon SignVista System recently installed multi part, double-sided pylon signs in Hilversum, Netherlands.  Vista System is a world leader in the mcft system (modular curved frame technology) which consists of a wide array of both interior and exterior signage.

These particular pylon signs appear to have four-color printed vinyl inserts either applied to the acrylic covers that come with the frames or applied to some other type of substrate.  Vista System designs their exterior signage to withstand the elements so the sign inserts chosen but be as equally resilient.  What’s great about mcft is that you can complement the pylon signs with directory signs, wayfinding signs and others to create the same look and feel across the shopping center as highlighted in this example.

Another benefit of mcft is its modularity.  In this particular example there are four panels, but there could have been three or five or six depending on the particular application.  In addition, Vista System provides both illuminated and non-illuminated variations of exterior signage depending on whether you’re a destination shop or simply looking for branding.  Lastly, sign installation is simple especially if you have an on-site facilities staff or local handyman to do the job.  Where permitting is required it’s best to consult your local sign company.

Given the variations of all the post and pylon signs offered by Vista System please refer to the PDF catalog for curved pylon signs or flat pylon signs or call for personal assistance.
